Ligament injuries of the knee frequently require surgical
reconstruction in order to restore function.
In most instances autograft tissue suffices and provides satisfactory
results, however under certain conditions autologous tissue is inadequate or
inappropriate. This presentation will
detail the role and indications of soft tissue allograft use in reconstructive
knee surgery. Time will also be given to
discuss the role of meniscus allograft transplantation, a procedure that may be
required for persistent knee pain following meniscectomy.
