DATABASE FOR HUMAN TISSUES
The Heart Valve
and Pericardium Database is an
online database which allows surgeons to search for a suitable heart valve or
pericardium for implantation. Participating banks
include the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria, Royal Perth Hospital, Sydney Heart
Valve Bank and Queensland Heart Valve Bank.
Transmission of information to
users of the service, such as cardiothoracic surgeons, is done in a way which
does not introduce errors nor allow the data to be edited by unauthorised users.
We are hoping to include databases for other tissues in the near future.
